The One Red

This site has one red, for the one action that matters and for failure. Here everyone on the page shares one red button, and it lights only while enough of you hold it at the same time.

The rule

This design system has one red, --signal. It's allowed in two places only: the one Primary action in a view, and a Fault, when something you started has failed. This piece breaks the rule on purpose, and makes everyone on the page share the breaking. Hold the button and the panel cuts to red with the same Hard cut a Fault uses.

One more each time

The first time, one person lights it. Each time the red goes out, it takes one more holder to light it again, so a crowd that keeps letting go has to grow to keep it on. When everyone lets go, the count starts over at one.

The room

Like Majority Shell, the room is a Cloudflare Durable Object that every visitor's WebSocket connects to. All it keeps is one bit per visitor, held or not, and two numbers. A visitor can send at most twenty messages a second, and that one bit is all anyone can say.
